The ‘Call of Warhammer’ mod team has released a preview of the fearsome Black Orcs, the elites of greenskin society. They’ve also displayed many powerful ancillaries to empower your generals with. WAAAGH! Check them out here.

Dain Ironfoot from ‘The Peninsular War’ has posted a new batch of screenshots from the mod. Most people know about the guerrillas who hounded the French troops, but these screens are all of the Spanish regulars. March over to the mod’s thread to have a look at them.

New screenshots have surfaced from ‘The Peninsular War’, a Napoleonic Era mod for ‘Mount & Blade’. Mod developer Dain Ironfoot posted masses of them here, so head on over there and gawk.
‘Call of Warhammer: Total War’ developer isilendil has posted more screenshots from the mod, showcasing Vampire Counts and Squig units. Of fifteen vampire units two are provided below (the Knights of the Order of the Blood Dragons and Black Knights), plus screens of the Squig Riders and Squig Handlers. «Orion is a total conversion utilizing Valve Software’s Orange Box engine. Orion immerses the player in an intense online experience. Featuring fast-paced tactical gameplay on futuristic battlefields, Orion brings the fun into gameplay.»
New screenshots from the futuristic shooter ‘Orion’ have been posted, showing scenes from the team’s latest multiplayer playtest. And with the screens come promises of a public beta release that is not too far off, and that they will work hard on adding content such as new game modes and additional classes after that release. They are also looking for a programmer, animator and level designers, so those of you who have those skills may want to give them a shout. You can read the full announcement here.
gutekfiutek continues to amaze us all with fantastic screenshots and videos of his ongoing work on polishing the landscapes of ‘Mount & Blade’. You can check out all his latest progress in the mod’s thread.
«It’s a few years after the civil war in the western part of the United States. In the north there are Apaches and Comaches, from the south Mexican bandits raid the US villages. Join the US Army and become an honest man or lend your hand to a bandit chief for a fistfull of Dollars.
This is a mod that aims at bringing an atmosphere of the most famous western movies to Mount and Blade. The historical accuracy does not have priority.»
‘1866: Western Mod’ is one of the top ‘Mount & Blade’ mods I’m currently waiting for, and I’m not sure if these screenshots that were just posted make the wait harder or more bearable. Maybe a bit of both.
A render of the Hall-North Carbine, a .52 caliber smoothbore breach-loader, has also been posted, illustrating the wide variety of guns – both famous and obscure – that we will be able to fumble once the mod comes out. You can follow the development of 1866 at their forums.
The ModRealms Screenshots Competition ends in about one week, so now is the time to fire up your favourite mod, or rummage through your old screens folder, and get your images posted! Remember, screenshots from mods for any game are eligible to be entered, but they have to be unedited.
A new ‘Battlefield: Bad Company 2′ trailer showing multiplayer gameplay has been released, just on the heels of four new screenshots. BFBC2 is the sequel to DICE’s ‘Battlefield: Bad Company’, but unlike its predecessor which only came out on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 this latest installment will be available for the PC as well. I see modding in this game’s future…
More information about the game can be found on the official website.
