It’s the little details that really instill a sense of reality into a game. That’s the policy being followed by the ‘First Strike’ team, as they show us a new preview of some common items found in the Star Wars universe, including the SoroSuub V-35 Courier landspeeder, and the ever famous Moisture Vaporator cluster. A new open beta has been released for ‘Star Wars: Conquest’, adding more cultures to kingdom management, some custom music, arena’s for Taooine and Mon Cal, expanded troop trees and more. If you want to exchange your trusty steed for a speeder bike, I suggest you download the mod!

New screenshots have been posted for the ‘Cryminator’ modification for ‘Crysis’, a mod based on Terminator: Salvation. The screens show the first shot of a Cyborg (wearing a nanosuit, for now), and city ruins with a Hunter Killer drone in the distance. ‘CSS SCI FI 3: Hardwired’ is a single player modification for ‘Counter-Strike: Source’, allowing you to play as an augmented clone of Gordon Freeman through 18 retail and 24 custom CS:S maps. The missions are all non-linear, with secret weapons hidden throughout the maps, allowing for replayability. Find out more on the mod’s website.
A new client patch has been released for ‘Neotokyo’, a futuristic shooter set in Tokyo, Japan. The patch adds seven new maps and changes to several existing ones, new weapons (see above and below) and much more. A new version of ‘Dune Wars’, a modification for ‘Civilization IV: Beyond the Sword’ that is based on Frank Herbert’s Dune saga, has been released. The new version of the mod includes a massive amount of changes and additions, all of which you can read about herewhile you download the mod.

The v1.5.5 patch for ‘Dune Wars’ has been released, adding changes to the religion system, new unit art, bug fixes and a host of other goodies. More info and full changelog can be found here.
A demo has been released for ‘Overheid’, a single player modification for ‘Half-Life 2: Episode Two’. You play as a new recruit in the resistance battling your way across City 17 and up the ranks of the movement. The demo features a lot of action, but we are promised exploration, puzzles & an engaging story in the full mod – similar to that of HL2. ‘Cryminator’ is a modification for ‘Crysis’ that is based, mostly, on Terminator: Salvation. The mod developers say that you will be able to play in large open-ended environments reminiscent of games like ‘S.T.A.L.K.E.R’ and ‘The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion’, and that you will step into the shoes of John Connor in his battle against the machines.
