‘The Frontier’, a mod set on the North American continent from 1655 to 1744 where you can play as one of four European invaders, or as defending natives, has previewed two units for their Miskito Tribes roster. The units, Miskito Gunners and Miskito Seafarers, are both showcased with screenshots and unit info cards, so you should go and check them out!

davide.cool is back with another historical battle map for ‘Medieval II: Total War – Kingdoms’ (although this is a fictional one unlike his last Battle of Thermopylae map) featuring the Incas (or Mayans, in-game) and Spanish in a battle to control the Lost City of the Incas. The Incas have to defend their last refuge, while the Conquistadors have to meet an initial ferocious attack before they can advance up the mountain and take the city. The battle is set in 1570, and the map has been manually created. Read more, and download, here.

«Europa Barbarorum was started to more accurately represent the barbarian factions in Rome – Total War as more than unwashed hordes but quickly expanded into accurate representations of all of the factions. Over the X years that EB has existed, EB has completely remade the Rome – Total War game with the goal of historical accuracy and fair representations of all factions. With the completion of Europa Barbarorum Version 1.1, the team has moved on to the M2TW engine to recreate the Roman Era with the new features available therein.»

‘Europa Barbarorum II’ is back with a new faction preview, to the delight of barbarians everywhere. This time we’re getting treated to information about the Getai (also spelled Getae), a collection of tribes – one people, yet divided, according to the EB team – who inhabited parts of today’s Bulgaria and Romania. The provinces they control, the emblem they march to battle beneath, and the warriors they have at their command are all viewable in the preview thread.

The guys from ‘Wrath of the Norsemen’ have done something that unfortunately too few mod teams and modders do: they’ve released the old units that will not make it into the mod to the public so that other modders and teams can use them. Fifteen units can currently be downloaded, including Jómsvíkingar, Húskarlar and Hirðmenn. Go here to find the download links and see screenshots of all the units.

«Dominion of the Sword is an ambitious project aimed at making a Supermod, we have a large team made up of several contributing mods as well as our own dedicated staff. The mod aims to maximise the possibilities in the M2TW engine to make a game with realism, historical accuracy and playability. Most of all we are concentrating on an atmospheric and fully immersible experience of medieval warfare and rulership.»

Knížecí Družina (Prince's Suit)
The guys from ‘Dominion of the Sword’ (a mod which we, incidentally, recently interviewed) are showcasing their early era units for Bohemia. Four units are previewed with screenshots and historical background information, and some images of a battle being joined have also been posted. Check them all out here, and move on to the DotS forum to see all the previous previews.

«The Mod Deus lo Vult (DLV) 6.2 is a CIVlike enhancement for Medieval Total War II Kingdoms, giving the player the possibility to write his personal history and requiring a lot more strategic thinking during game play.»

German Charge
‘Deus lo Vult’ (translation: God Wills It) has been updated to version 6.2. It adds, among other things, new units, courtesy of the ‘Complete Byzantine Unit Roster Project’ & ‘Rusichi: Total War’, davide.cool’s better grass & flowers, and tweaks to the economic system. You can download the full build and patch here, read the DLV strategy guide here, or visit the mod’s forum here.
