The Wheel of Time: Trollocs Banner

If you feel that ‘Neverwinter Nights 2′ could be greatly improved by a sprinkling of Trolloc and a dash of Myrddraal you’re in luck, because modding chef Lanndon Blackmon has put together a dish he’s called ‘The Wheel of Time: Trollocs’. He’s also working on a WoT total conversion for NWN2, so this is just an appetizer. Head here to download the foul beasts.

Neverwinter Nights 2 - Trollocs from The Wheel of Time

Yes, it does seem like Trollocs will be invading Faerûn soon, as the creator of the creatures you see above is expecting a release by the end of this October. Trollocs are – for those of you who are not familiar with them – large, evil man/animal hybrids and servants of the Dark One in Robert Jordan’s The Wheel of Time series of fantasy books. Not the nicest of chaps, in other words. The developer of the mod, Lanndon Blackmon, also revealed that he is currently working on a WoT total conversion for ‘Neverwinter Nights 2′. You can read his announcement here.

`Icewind Dale´ is one of those often overlooked games. Not because it is bad, quite the contrary, it is a perfectly formed gem of an RPG, unfortunately it has always been overshadowed by it’s famous big brother `Baldur’s Gate I & II´.

Back in 1998 a 2D isometric game was released called `Baldur’s Gate´ it became an instant hit and spawned many sequels, spin-offs and expansions such as `Icewind Dale´, `Tales of the Sword Coast´ and the immensely popular `Baldur’s Gate II´. A small team of modders have set upon the task of updating the much loved classic `Baldur’s Gate´ story to the superior 3D `Neverwinter Nights II´ engine.
